Increased area of effect.
Sludge Bomb is an area debuff move that deals damage, slows enemies, and decreases their special defense for a short duration.
Sludge Bomb is best used as a set up for your Razor Leaf or when upgraded, Solar Beam since these moves deal large amounts of special attack damage, it will greatly benefit from the special defense reduction that Sludge Bomb inflicts.
Use Sludge Bomb to deny enemies areas or chokepoints so you can punish them if they still try to move across the area of effect of Sludge Bomb.
Giga Drain
7sRecovery

Launch many sharp-edged leaves in a quick succession of attacks, dealing damage to enemies in the area of effect.
Razor Leaf is a long-range nuke move. It is perfect for dealing damage from a distance and for stealing wild pokemon from enemies.
It deals damage little by little but it amounts to a large number if the enemy does not try to move from its area of effect. Use it in combination with Sludge Bomb to deal more damage.
Try to use Venusaur’s boosted attack before casting Razor Leaf because Venusaur’s boosted attack pulls enemies closer together so they will be damaged by Razor Leaf together.
You can use the Eject Button to reposition Razor Leaf to hit enemies when your initial aim fails.
Razor Leaf Upgrade Options
Solar Beam
10sArea
Blast a bundled beam of light, dealing damage to enemies in a line.
Reduced cooldown.
Solar Beam is the upgraded version of Razor Leaf. It deals damage on shorter bursts but it has a short cast time that is dodgeable, especially by pokemon with dash moves.
Use Sludge Bomb to decrease the chances of the enemy avoiding your Solar Beam thanks to its slow and if you hit the enemy, it will deal more damage because of Sludge Bomb’s special defense reduction.
Try to hit enemies with your boosted attack first so the enemies will be grouped together, making your Solar Beam hit more efficient.
You can use the Eject Button to reposition Solar Beam to hit enemies when your initial aim fails.
Petal Dance
11sArea
Scatter petals around the user, increasing movement speed for a short time and dealing damage over time to enemies in the area of effect.

Spam Petal Dance to get through your destination quickly and use it to take control of goal zones for your team.
Verdant Anger Unite Move
Area
Unlocks at level 9
Launches a giant seed toward the designated area. The seed then splits apart, dealing damage to enemies in the area of effect and decreasing their movement speed for a short time.
Verdant Anger deals large amounts of damage but it is hard to hit, especially if used on only one or two enemy pokemon.
To make full use of Verdant Anger, use it on three or more enemy pokemon.
Take advantage of the chaos, especially when trying to contest Zapdos, Rotom, or Drednaw.
Use Sludge Bomb first to increase the damage of Verdant Anger.

Venusaur Gameplay Guide
Venusaur is usually played in the Top or Bottom lane with a support or a defender. Venusaur relies on the high damage output from its Solar Beam to kill enemies and steal objectives so you will need to always be at least on par or ahead of your enemies in terms of level.
In the early game, Venusaur is one of the most effective at stealing wild Pokemon since its Razor Leaf deals a lot of continuous damage from a distance. You can also use this move, along with its other move, Seed Bomb, to harass enemies and discourage them from contesting wild Pokemon since their HP will always be low.
Venusaur’s boosted attack is great for setting up its moves because it pulls enemies hit with it at the center parallel to Venusaur. When used correctly, it can put enemies close together to set them up to be damaged with Venusaur’s abilities.
What is the role of Venusaur when taking objectives?
When Drednaw spawns, always rotate to it if you are laning in the Top lane. Venusaur’s presence is important when taking objectives as its Solar Beam is great at securing the last hit on Drednaw, Rotom, and Zapdos and its Unite move, Verdant Anger deals a lot of damage on a chaotic battlefield.
Middle and Late Game
Using the Sludge Beam build
The Sludge Beam build turns Venusaur into a long-range nuker that deals extreme amounts of damage and it even has a debuff on its Sludge Bomb that slows and reduces the Sp. Def of enemies affected.
Stay behind your defender and supporters while you look for opportunities to burst down enemies. Venusaur’s moves are best chained with your allies’ hindrances so that the enemy will receive the full amount of burst damage you can deal.
Using the Giga Dance build
The Giga Dance build turns Venusaur into a tanky attacker that is capable of dishing it out with the enemy at the middle of the fight.
Venusaur gains additional movement speed, defenses, and it can heal itself when using this build. So you’d want to pair yourself with an attacker or speedster so you can focus on annoying enemies and absorbing damage for your team while your allies attack them from behind you.
When is the best time to use the Verdant Anger Unite move?
Verdant Anger can be hard to aim because its seeds explode at four corners away from the targeted center. Because of its peculiar mechanic, it is best used on big fights when there are three or more enemies. This way, you would increase your chances of hitting an enemy.
You can attempt to deliberately try to hit enemies by manually targeting the move but you also have to take in consideration the short casting delay.
Did you know?
Venusaur can catch the sun’s ray to convert them into energy that causes it flowers to become vibrant. The flowers then, can release a scent that attracts Pokemon and calms emotions.
